Oasis – a man or a camel staring at the stars above the desert, acknowledges how lucky they are to be there. Where they can breathe and dream absolutely free! Just one simple question bothers both of them: is there anywhere an oasis left, here on our lonely Planet? The paradigm: “We should stand a better chance for survival if we accommodated ourselves to this planet and viewed it appreciatively instead of dictatorially.” Our idea of self-sufficient housing is based upon a principle that sustainable and economically profitable housing can be achieved with passive exploitation of natural environment and climate resources along with incorporation of advanced IT and Hi-tech.

Architecture and design
The Oasis design idea is dictated by an aim to incorporate self sufficient maintenance systems: active (photovoltaic panels, solar collectors, heat pump, “living machine”) and passive (energy saving, shading, conditioning, water collecting) into minimal space of living buildings. therefore not forgetting comfort and classical architectural aesthetics. Each house is design to give much privy sense and play the didactical role as well. Principle is, what you see is what you give. Interior is widely connected with patios and courtyard which are filled with lot of greenery and water. With a little help and care it can become self sufficiently growing, picturesque every day scene, teaching young and elder to love nature. It is easier to achieve commonly balanced architectural composition, economic profit, and self sufficiency idea in community housing design. Oasis community is based on blocking houses into closed system. This way it is modest and minimalist architectural expression as well, which becomes aesthetically self sufficient form easily fiting into almost any landscape.
Building site handling
All site surface soil dug out for structures basements is consumed in filling ground embankments. They are the main elements of microclimate machine which incorporates communication grids as well. These measures enable plumbing to be easily erected, maintained and in case of accident it can be easily located. Interior composition, rational and comfortable living space size 15m x 15m occupies just 1/3 of are house building site. Other property space (yard with pool, roof with grass, ground embankments with trees), leaving undisturbed natural soil processes, is used as a passive microclimate machine. Houses, parking, streets, walkways are laid to be comfortable and to occupy little space. Ground level for active traffic, upper for pedestrians and entertainment activities occupies same site area.
Sustainable infrastructure planning
Electricity, heat, cooling, clean water is produced right there, where it is consumed. Every house is a part of maintenance system group connected from 3 houses. Engineering systems of 3 houses functions independently each from another, giving back to common grid overproduced energy.
Future development
Engineering systems are component based and can be easily updated separately depending on new sufficiency demands. Long lasting concrete shell provides living space with further practical interior transformation options. Metabolic composition of living blocks gives unlimited potential joining new houses based on same system.
